Hooves And Healing
The benefits of Equine Sports Massage Therapy helps improve your horse’s overall health.
-It relieves muscle tension
-increases range of motion
-improves circulation
-reduces inflammation and swelling
-decreases pain, soreness, and muscle fatigue -enhances muscle tone -And it helps keep the horse’s body in better physical condition.
Through massage, tension and adhesions are broken up by using a series of different strokes. By increasing circulation and oxygen to the area, the body naturally removes the toxins and tension from the affected areas leaving the horse feeling more relaxed, in less pain, and able to perform better than before
OUR THERAPISTS
My love of horses brought me to massage therapy, because of the need that I saw in all the horses and the difference that I saw AFTER they were massaged. Plus, being able to show all the horses I work on, that they are loved!
Why would your horse need a massage?
Horses these days are affected by so many different things, such as the saddle, performance, riders, being incorrectly ridden, lameness and injury, and most horse owners know that massage therapy should be apart of your horse health care program, to prevent injury, promote quicker healing during rehabilitation of an injury, and the overall health benefits are numerous!
Most people think that a horse’s bad behavior has to do with them being “bad”, but if you take a moment to listen to them and see what they have to “say”, you will find that sometimes, it is due to pain! I have seen horses improve from pinning their ears during saddling, having cinch or girth issues, and being very tight while ridden, and showing dramatic improvement after just one massage!
“If you want to relax, watch the clouds pass by if you’re laying on the grass, or sit in front of the creek; just doing nothing and having those still moments is what really rejuvenates the body…”
